“Dr. Sketchy’s Art Monkey
$50.00
Calling all art monkeys…

…RockLove Jewelry is proud to present the Limited Edition 2008 OFFICIAL Dr. Sketchy’s Art Monkey Necklace

A solid hand carved and cast cheeky little devil designed by our illustrious leader, Molly Crabapple, and immortalized in top quality nickel-free sterling silver. Made right here in our NYC studios.

Spanning a comfortably hefty 1.25″ in diameter, the back is signed “Dr. Sketchy’s ‘08″ along with “RockLove” and “925″ in script - only to be sold in limited quantities this year. It has been oxidized and repolished for a contrasting gunmetal glow.

It hangs from your choice of glossy black 15mm wide satin ribbon (vegan friendly) or black 2mm round Greek Leather cord with a sterling clasp in either 16″ or 18″ lengths. Please specify during checkout. Both options can be conveniently removed and replaced with your own chain.

Proceeds go directly back to Dr. Sketchy’s Anti-Art School, meaning that you not only get a wicked new piece of jewelry, but your purchase is supporting the organization for which we know, love, and expose!

Includes FREE International Shipping and comes in a stylish RockLove gift box.”

Nicola Black, who started out helping Dr. Sketchy’s with graphic design, and now runs Dr. Sketchy’s Philly, has this to say about her experience

“One of the most interesting and beneficial moves of my career, so far, has been responding to a Dr. Sketchy’s help wanted ad. The projects I’ve done with Molly are sooo much fun and allow me to get really creative with my designs — there’s nothing like doing work that you love!”

Interested? Email molly@drsketchy.com with a little bit about yourself, your skills, and what aspects of the Dr. Sketchy’s empire you’re interested in working with. Also, what you’d like to get out of helping Dr. Sketchy’s.

Hope to hear from you!

See the entire Backstage archives at http://www.mollycrabapple.com/backstage . Thanks to Mekenzie, they have all sorts of new functionality and spiffiness.

Also check the quotes from two of my favorite writers, which leave me so honored I could faint.

BACKSTAGE is dazzling retro-fetish. Just enough histro-smut, transgressive comedy, and wacky badgirlism to make you wish there were MacArthur Genius Awards for Sultry Artist/Writer Duos Kicking through the Web. Manhattan never looked more deadly.

- Mel Gordon. Author of Voluptuous Panic: The Erotic World of Weimar Berlin

Molly Crabapple is an American Renaissance woman. In a market that increasingly demands simplicity, she delivers the opposite, juxtaposing a candy shoppe visual aesthetic of sweetness (all pinks and curlicues) with a harsh tale of the sordid underbelly, justifying the title “Backstage”…the truth behind the beauty.
